Meet our Members

Sarah is an award-winning artist and designer based in Co. Kildare. She creates ranges of colourful, striking jewellery and wall panels using fused glass and polymer clay.

She enjoys creating compositions of different shapes, colours and textures, exploring the natural proportions found in nature. Each piece is made in her home studio in Sallins, Co. Kildare. Her work appears in many public and private collections, including the State Art Collection.

I am also an Art teacher, so often I will be teaching in the morning and get into the studio in the afternoon. If I’m not teaching that day I’ll usually check emails, pack orders etc in the morning and get stuck into making afterwards. Every day can be quite different depending on what I’m working on- I might need to spend a lot of time mixing colours or sanding pieces, or sometimes sketching and planning!

Do it! You have to be ready to juggle lots of things and constantly learn new skills, but if you are a creative person it is so rewarding. Make sure to join collectives and craft groups, the friendships and connections I've made with other creatives has been brilliant.

I just love the buzz of seeing something you imagined becoming a physical thing. Its alway exciting when I come up with a new idea, the feeling never gets old. Its even better when someone else also loves looking at / wearing what I’ve made too!

Probably around the middle of the day, usually when I’ve peak energy!

What do you like least about your work?

When machinery breaks, or pieces unexpectedly turn out wrong. I think you learn something every time that happens though!

Probably cook or eat, I’m always hungry!

What do you listen to?

I love listening to podcasts when I’m working, especially ones on news and current affairs. I love Louise McSharry’s podcast, and The Group Chat.
