DCCIA Role Vacancy: Craft Tutor – Ceramics

To further support the growth and development of the design and craft sector, DCCI has recently launched its new Design & Crafts Council Ireland Academy (DCCIA) in Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny. We are seeking an ambitious, driven Craft Tutor – Ceramics to teach a range of courses within the subject area and act as course tutor to groups of students.

 

 

The Role

 

Based in Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny, the Craft Tutor – Ceramics will play a key role teaching a range of courses within the subject area and act as course tutor to groups of students and carry out all associated duties in line with the Education, Development Plan; DCCI strategic priorities and the role of tutor practitioner.

In addition, the post is required to take on additional areas of responsibility within the school from the list included in the job description. The responsibility will be reviewed each year as part of the performance development review (PMDS) process.

The Person

 

You possess relevant experience in the qualified area, ideally in the further and higher education sector or similar, coupled with a good knowledge of assessing learners across a range of courses e.g. for micro credential awards (nationally and internationally).

  • Current relevant (last 3 years) industry experience at a Ceramics studio/workshop. Understanding of Child and Vulnerable Adult protection (Safeguarding Agenda) and the willingness to increase knowledge.
  • A health and safety qualification with demonstrable experience of teaching and learning in an applied learning environment.

You demonstrate the ability to deliver excellence in teaching and learning and the ability to embed transversal skills in practical. Further details on this significant opportunity, including remuneration, duties and responsibilities, are available upon request.
