Westcountry Willows are a husband and wife team based in Co. Roscommon, surrounded by willows and rushes in the Mid-west boglands. We create baskets and crafts using the materials that grow around us. Throughout history, humans have utilised the natural resources surrounding them to create useful items and crafts. Our coffins will be, just like our baskets created from 100% sustainable Irish willow grown from our own land here in Roscommon, so there are zero miles transporting the materials to weave them. We feel passionate about keeping these skills alive and travelling the country teaching others these heritage and sustainable skills. Our workshop is an eco-build off-grid roundhouse with cob walls and timber cladding waste products from a local sawmill.
