The Intersection of Craft and Commerce in association with TU Dublin.

Do we design because we have a drive to create or are we driven to design by commercial concerns?

Megan Nolan Walsh is a recent graduate of NCAD who has quickly become a rising star in the Irish fashion world. Her folklore inspired ranges include modern interpretations of the iconic Claddagh ring, the Irish symbol for love, loyalty and friendship.

Chaïm Factor has been Skill Sharing his experience for over 50 years. He has completed a significant portfolio of design and make commissions, including his award winning products in the ‘Design Elegance for Foodies’ range, which have been sold in shops in Europe, the United States, and Japan.

His work is augmented with knowledge of conservation, restoration and replicas for many buildings of architectural and historical distinction. He has contributed to numerous public projects of note, including the National Concert Hall Organ Case and St. Mary’s Church Organ Case Restoration. He designed and produced the interior architecture and furniture for the National Heritage Park in Wexford.

Sean Toomey from Team Human brings his expertise to this panel. Team Human is a diverse group of creative designers, engineers, and problem solvers, working harmoniously to bring ground-breaking ideas to life. Their 3D print room houses eleven 3D printers. These all vary between SLA and FDM printers for both small and large scale printing and they are home to some of the largest 3D printers in the country. Their spray booth and finishing technicians can produce parts to a wide range of finishes
