John Sleepy Moran and contestant MiNHi England from Netflix’s smash hit series “Blown Away” join Jerpoint Glass owner Rory Leadbetter for an intimate demonstration…

Thursday Morning:

MiNHi England, one of the contestants from Netflix’s hit series Blown Away, comes to Jerpoint Glass for this intimate demonstration.

MiNHi England is a Seattle based artist working primarily in glass.
She earned her BFA from Alfred University in 2010 and has since been working as a professional glassblower at numerous studios throughout the greater Seattle area.
Her current art practice focuses heavily on her recent young widow status, as she learns to navigate overwhelming loss, grief and life altering transition.

England has been awarded several artist residencies such as the Hauberg Residency at Pilchuck Glass School, the Hilltop Artists Residency in Tacoma, WA and has shown at Bellevue Art Museum. She has an upcoming immersive gallery installation set to open early 2023 at “Method Gallery” in Seattle as well as a group exhibition at Pittsburgh Glass Center Gallery.

Friday Morning:

John Sleepy Moran comes to Jerpoint Glass for this intimate demonstration.

Known in several different countries for his astounding artwork, biting wit and charming personality, John Moran currently resides in the historic city of Ghent, Belgium.

After receiving his Bachelor’s degree from Tyler School of Art in 2006, he spent several years working in the Philadelphia area, around the United States, and China. Since then, he has traversed the globe in search of knowledge, and employment.

In 2009, John was awarded a Creative Glass Center of America Fellowship at Wheaton Arts. In early 2010, he was invited to IKA Mechelen, Belgium as an artist in residence and guest instructor, where he found history, trappist beer, and love. Upon his return to the states he moved a car full of his worldly possessions west, where after three long and grueling years, he attained his MFA from Illinois State University.

In 2013, he crossed the ocean to begin his new life, where he co-founded Gent Glas, a public access studio for the professional glass community. His work reflects his interest in politics, philosophy, religion, and human social behaviour meshed with his sense of humor and a touch of altruism. Over the past few years, he has exhibited in many prestigious galleries and museums across the United States and Europe.

Afternoon sessions on Thursday and Friday:

John and MiNHi come together for a very special joint demonstration.
