Annika Berglund creates sculptural work using a variety of media. She has long worked in ceramics, then added works in glass and bronze. Over the last few years, prompted by a desire to find more eco friendly forms of expression she has pivoted to working mainly in fibre arts. Annika has a degree from the Irish National College of Art and Design. She graduated in 2011and won the National University of Ireland Art and Design prize for that year. She was also invited to return as a Resident Artist at the National College of Art and Design in 2013 She has had a number of solos shows and has participated in a large number of group shows in Ireland and internationally. She spent 2020 skilling up in felt and fibre arts. One of her earliest felt pieces depicted the corona virus and was acquired by the National Museum of Ireland. The felt piece Interlocked was the title piece for her recent solo exhibition of the same name at the Olivier Cornet gallery in Dublin. Annika is represented by the Olivier Cornet gallery, Dublin Ireland.
